It was announced yesterday, but Sakurazaka46 will not be able to participate in Kōhaku Uta Gassen 2022.
We are once again reminded how grateful we are to have had the opportunity to participate every year since our debut in 2016 and how life has truly been like a dream.
Until then, I used to spend New Year’s Eve with my family, eating Toshi-koshi soba while watching Kōhaku Uta Gassen and welcoming the New Year by listening to the bell ring on TV.
My life took a 180 after I joined the group, as I went from watching Kōhaku Uta Gassen to participating in it.
The person who was happiest about it was my beloved grandmother.
She is already in heaven now, but every year at this time, I remember my grandmother.
I’m sorry that this turned into a personal story.
I am very frustrated right now.
Being able to participate in Kōhaku Uta Gassen is a big chance for us to have people who usually don’t have many opportunities to see the group to get to know us, even if it’s just a little bit, even if it’s just the name.
More than anything, it is the last moment of the year when we can say thank you to all the Buddies who have supported us with so much love throughout the year.
I think that by performing to the best of our ability there, we were able to say that it is thanks to all of you that we have come this far this year, and that we are able to live in this moment.
Every year, I have seen the moment when all the Buddies are happy and united after the performance, also having seen my own fans who are happy to look for and find me even if the timing of my appearance is just for a moment, I believe that’s why it’s so meaningful for the group to be on this program on New Year’s Eve.
The very nerve wracking “Silent Majority,” “Fukyouwaon” which we challenged with all our might, “Garasu wo ware!” where we clashed with each feeling, the second “Fukyouwaon” where we got our revenge, “Nobody’s fault,” in which we stood with gratitude and determination, and “Nagaredama” that intensely hit the group called Sakurazaka46, which was gradually beginning to emerge.
I remembered each of the performances I had experienced at Kōhaku Uta Gassen.
I definitely want to participate again.
Let me express my gratitude for this past year with all my heart at the “Buddies Thanksgiving” on December 8 and 9.
We want to give you all our thanks for the year 2022, so please come if you have time.
Thank you so very, very much for all your support.
Please stay with us for all of next year as well.
I love all of the Buddies!!❤️🔥
