No matter what I think

No matter what I say

I feel that you will probably always be on my side

 

I feel like you would praise me just for the simple act of putting my feelings into words

 

You rejoice with me

You laugh with me

You cry with me

 

You even get angry on my behalf

 

I have been saved so many times,

by that kind of kindness, that kind of warmth.

 

Just from the warmth of a hug

you absorb all of my feelings

 

I respect you from the bottom of my heart, someone who can cherish others as much as they cherish themselves

 

 

 

 

“Will you cry when I graduate?”

You asked me that with a smile

 

I smiled back and said jokingly,

“I will obviously be a total sobbing mess!”

 

But truth is, in that moment, I felt like I was about to overflow with tears,

and so I bit my lip to hold them back,

I still can’t forget that moment

 

But then,

You told me,

“Our relationship will continue even after this”.

 

I’m lonely,

There are days when the loneliness is almost too much to handle,

But because you are the person I will always admire and love

 

I want to be able to see you off with a smile.

I want to become someone you can boast about forever and ever saying, “That’s my girl, I raised her well”.

 

 

I want to cherish the time we have left to work together
